What is BarkPark?
BarkPark is an app for dog parents. You can find dog parks (with a live busy-time heatmap), meet local pawrents through stories, groups and events, book vetted sitters, trainers, vets and private spaces with in-app card payments, send lost and found alerts, and keep a profile with a QR tag for each dog. BarkBot, an AI helper, answers everyday dog questions.
Is BarkPark free?
Yes. Creating an account and using the community, the park finder and dog profiles is free. You only pay when you book a provider, and there is an optional Premium tier for extras.
How do booking payments work?
When you request a booking, your card is held but not charged. The provider reviews the request, and the payment is only taken once they accept. Payments are processed in the app through Stripe.
What are the fees?
Joining is free. On bookings, the owner pays a service fee of about 10% on top of the provider price, dropping to about 5% on repeat bookings with the same provider. Providers keep about 95% of the booking price (about 97% on repeat bookings).
How does BarkPark keep me and my dog safe?
Your card is held, not charged, until a provider accepts. Phone numbers, email addresses and links are hidden in chat until a booking is confirmed, so you are not pulled off the app before you have committed. Providers have profiles and reviews, and members can report anything that looks wrong.
How do I become a sitter, trainer or space host?
Create a free account, set up a provider profile with your services, prices and availability, and connect Stripe so you can be paid. Once your profile is live, nearby dog owners can find and book you. Providers keep about 95% of each booking (about 97% on repeat bookings), paid out through Stripe about 3 days after acceptance.
When do providers get paid?
Payouts are made through Stripe about 3 days after the provider accepts the booking.
How does lost and found work?
If your dog is missing, post a lost alert from the app so nearby members see it. If you spot a dog on its own, you can report a found dog. Each dog profile also has a QR tag: anyone who scans it can see how to reach the owner.
What are Premium and Founder?
There is one Premium tier at $4.99 per month. It includes an ad-free experience, seeing who viewed your profile, 50 BarkBot questions a day (10 for free members) and a gold Founder badge. The Founder program is a limited early-member offer: Founders keep the $4.99 per month price while they stay subscribed. We do not offer free trials.
Where is BarkPark available?
Anyone can sign up from anywhere. The parks database is most complete in the United States and is growing globally, and any member can add a missing park. Sitter and trainer listings are live wherever providers have signed up, so coverage varies city by city.
Is there an iPhone app, an Android app and a website?
The iOS app is live on the App Store. Android (Google Play) is coming soon. You can also use BarkPark in your browser at barkpark.online.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings, go to Security, and choose Delete account. If you need help, email hello@barkpark.online.
